The Local Organising Committee (LOC) offers 15 full scholarships and a number of partial scholarships to assist young, academics and pratictioners from a far distant country or from a country with a low income level.

Scholarship details

We are offering two types of scholarships:

15 Full Scholarships which cover the following expenses:
  • Round-trip travel
  • Accommodation for up to 4 nights
  • Conference registration fee
a limited number of Partial scholarships which cover:
  • Accommodation for up to 4 nights
  • Conference registration fee

Who can apply?

Any young proposal submitter (under the age of 35 years by 31st December of the year of the congress), any academic or practitioner (in the field of Agritourism) who live, work or study in a far distant country with respect to Italy or in a country with a low income level (we refer to OECD, DAC List of ODA Recipients). The application can only be made in connection with the regular abstract submission and includes only applicants who plan to attend the congress and to present the paper/poster on site.

Goals

  • To make the 1st Congress on Agritourism a successful and productive world congress, by promoting experience sharing between participants from all over the world.
  • To facilitate the exchange and collaboration among Agritourism communities;
  • To promote new collaborations.

Evalutation process

  • The application can only be made in connection with the regular abstract submission and must be applied for by the presenting author of an abstract.
  • All applications will be evaluated by the LOC, taking into account the quality of abstract as well as its geographic context.
  • The final decision on the granting of the congress scholarships will be made by the LOC.
  • The LOC decision will be final and unappealable.
  • All applicants will be informed of the LOC decision once it has been made.
  • Any attempt to lobby the LOC will result in disqualification of the applicant.
  • Any applications that do not comply with the formal requirements described in these guidelines will not be accepted/considered.
  • By accepting a scholarship, the applicant automatically grants the LOC permission to use any materials associated with the application.

Important Dates

  • Scholarship applications open: March 8th, 2018
  • Deadline for applying for scholarships: March 25th, 2018
  • Eligibility assessment by the LOC: April 9th, 2018
  • Applicants are notified about decisions: second week of April 2018
  • The final list of recipients is announced: April 16th, 2018

Notes

  • Applicants who receive other financial support for the same reasons are not eligible to apply for a congress scholarship.
  • The LOC will pay directly for conference registration fees, travel, and shared accommodation.
  • For the booking of transport, applicants are required to use a travel booking service contracted by the LOC.
  • Meals during the conference are covered by the conference registration fee, such as lunches and receptions.
  • An invitation letter for all scholarship recipients requiring a visa will be provided by LOC. We expect each recipient to personally contact their local Italian consulate or embassy to manage any related business on their own including the payment of fees.
  • In general terms the LOC will not cover the cost of visa – exceptions may be made upon request.
  • Expenses that are not covered include any incidental costs (new passport, travel guides, plug adapters, clothes, etc.), local transportation during the conference, meals outside the conference program, costs related to being accompanied by families and friends, as well as all expenses associated with any vacation taken outside of the conference dates.
